Product Description

Citric acid is an important organic acid, also known as citric acid. It is a colorless crystal that often contains one molecule of crystalline water. It is odorless, has a strong sour taste, and is easily soluble in water. Its calcium salt is more soluble in cold water than in hot water, and this property is often used to identify and separate citric acid. Controlling the appropriate temperature during crystallization can obtain anhydrous citric acid. It has a wide range of applications in industries such as food and cosmetics.
At room temperature, citric acid is a colorless semi transparent crystal or white particle or white crystalline powder, odorless, extremely acidic in taste, astringent, slightly corrosive, strongly deliquescent, accompanied by the formation of crystalline water compounds, and slightly deliquescent in humid air. It can exist in the form of anhydrous or monohydrate: citric acid crystallizes from hot water to form anhydrous; Crystallization in cold water produces monohydrate. When heated to 78 ºC, monohydrate will decompose into anhydrous form. At 15 degrees Celsius, citric acid can also dissolve in anhydrous ethanol.
